Psychics ? / Ghosts ?

My dad passed away when i was 14 ( im now 20 ) and i have always wanted to go to a psychic to see if i could talk to my dad ... to see if he has anything to tell me. I also would like to see a psychics for other reasons ... but everyone around me tells me i shouldnt go and its a waste of money - and that if i do its a big sin ( im Catholic - so its very against my religion )

I see on tv the psycic Silvia Brown - who can talk with dead - and sometimes i really believe it. But anywho i also want to know if you believe in ghosts -

so tell me if you believe - and if so why ? do you have any crazy stories? i would love to hear!

I definitely believe in ghosts and spirits and physchics too. I watch Lisa Williams in t.v. on Mondays nights at 9 on the lifetime channel and she is so good. I have had many experiences with things happeneing to me. And the thing you have to rememebr is that stuff like that happens to everybody it is just up to them to believe it or not. I'm sure you have had experiences, maybe even wit hyour dad,bu tyo didn't see them as that. Be more open to things. Its not like ur worshiping the devil, you still believe in God and Jesus, and also that you still have a contact with your dad.
I am Catholic too and I believe in this stuff. How can u deny something that happens all the time. Some people just have a talent given to them and some are fake. (A lot are fake) There is an older lady that I know who had the talent when she was younger now her grandchild has it, except they can actually see them not just hear them. Sometimes when we're little movies and the media haven't corrupted our minds yet and made us afraid of everything.
My boyfriend is 18 and his mother died when he was 11. He has a younger niece named Amber and when she was 2 or 3 and his mother just died, he noticed something she was doing. He went into her playroom oneday when she was playing tea party with her dolls and she was looking up in the corner( as if at a person) and said hi Nanna (which is wut she used to call his mom. her other grandma was just grandma and SHE was always Nana) My boyfriend went into the room and asked who she was talking to and she said, "Nanna why, She came to see me and Josh." (Josh is her younger brother who was born a little while after his grandmother, my boyfriend's mom, died) Little kids never lie.
Anyway, it must have been a very hard thing to go through, losing your dad at that young an age. But if you feel in your heart that this is the right thing to do then go for it! I know I would. Maybe you can uncover secrests or be able to tell him something that you never got to tell him in time. You never know, maybe he has something to tell you also!No matter what happens though, he is still your dad and will always love you no matter what. Just pretend its a really long vacation, because you'll be together in heaven.
Just make sure you do some research on whoever you go to, because like I said before there are a lot of people out there who are just going after your money. Good luck wi th everything, and be excited! you never know what you will find out!

Well I do believe in the possibilities of "ghosts". I do think that there is a material body and then something else, maybe a sort of energy, that leaves the body when you die. I have seen my grandmother after she died and my father has also seen someone. ( he didn't know this person, it was on the stairs and my father just asked him to move over so he could pass him on the stairs, my father was a strange guy sometimes). I have also been to some psychics, mostly because my sister and mother wanted to go after my dad died. In my experience most of them were fake. They were just smooth talkers who said stuff that could related to just about anybody. I do think there must be some authentic psychics though. I just haven't found one yet. Just try and find someone but be very, very skeptic. There are a lot of people out there who just want your money.

Yes I do. A lot of people do not believe because they do not understand and their minds are not opened. Go to www.bestpsychicmediums.com
It is a phenomenal website and there is actually a psychic on there that was a former catholic nun. She explains how it is not a sin. Another good one (that is more cost effective) is Janet Nohavec. Good luck, I don't have any experience myself but am extremely fascinated by this stuff :)

don't waste your money. yes it is true and it will work but i don't recommend it. here is some true stories:

my aunt Ida was seeing a psychic and she was telling her everything that was going to happen in her marriage and about her kids and everything came true.
months later her life went down. my uncle started beating her, my cuz started sleeping with all these guys, my other cuz got shot, my other cuz was in a car wreck, and there business was going bad. she stopped and became a christian and now all her kids are doing great and she is still married happily with my uncle. I'm catholic also and I'm a believer that you don't mess with the dead so don't do it!

another story
when i was in high school i was dating a guy and my friend read the tarot cards to me and told me some unpleasant things about the guy i was dating. shortly after that we broke up.

i also played with the quiga board and well that's to long of a story for me to tell but i just totally recommend you not to do this.

dont worry you will see you father again in the next life the way god wants you to.

take care and god bless.

If someone is purporting to do a "spiritual" act for money, I would steer away from them. This is called 'priestcraft" and the motive to do this is financial gain, fame or both. I would be very skeptical of any other intent on their part, regardless of what is said to the contrary.

The best place to feel close to a departed loved on is to become more spiritual yourself. In other words, seek out the spiritual by connecting with another person in need and strive to make their world more comfortable. Seek the spiritual in reading scripture or the word of God. Seek the spiritual by noticing the physical world around us and acknowledging and thanking a "creator" for providing such a beautiful place for us to dwell on.

Finally, communicate with God or a "higher power" and acknowledge to that Deity your love of your father. In some way, you will feel that love returned......

No this is wrong, what you are seeing on T.V is a sham and very dishonest, these people are polished professional illusionists at best and down right deceivers at worst.
Your Father has gone back to God and and has not forgotten you at all, for the love that he had for you is now a perfect love and love never ever forgets, you have your own life to live and so live it well according to God and when your time is over you will see your Father again.

Some people can communicate with ghost and some can not. Many children speak with Ghost. Most adults just cross it of as imaginary friends. I have a friend who started speaking with her grandfather when she was five years old shortly after he passed. She is now my age and still talks with him. I believe her. Most people who cant speak with Ghost don't believe in them. Good Luck with your quest.

ok,

first off, forget about the religion aspects of this.

Silvia Brown doesn't speak to the dead and the only time she hears them is when she throws on her elvis reacords (anyone that lame must be an elvis fan).

I believe Penn and Teller did an interesting episode of Bull s hit debunking crapola like this.

basically she is fleecing you out of your money at a time when you are most vulnerable.

If I where you I would sue her for your money back.

I don't believe in psychics or ghosts. I lost my father just this past Christmas Eve, and I'd like to believe that he'll always be with me, in my heart and in my memories.

Good luck to you.

I believe, but I think you can commune with your father all by yourself, just by getting out something he liked (his favorite beer, maybe? Pour it in the ground. Or if you can't get beer, his favorite juice or soda.), going to a quiet place, and talking. Don't think about how you look. Say what you need to say. And if you feel like you need to shut up and listen, do it!

Wanna know a secret? I like PBR now, which I know is disgusting, because it was my Daddy's favorite and I've shared a few with him. :-) He died when I was 7, so, my sympathies. (Obviously I didn't share the beers until I was older.)
