I want to thank all of you for your wonderful answers to my question about my mother:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070201235140AAN6tBv

In the past,I have suggested that she and I get counseling, that suggestion was met by a arbritary,a negative response. She told me that she did not want the counseling!!

I am "putting the ball in her court", so to speak. She will have to come to me for an apology, and to ask if we can start over. In the past, I did apologize, and did want to start over.

Until the day she steps forward and grows up, and I am done with this relationship. Thanks to everyone here for your advice!! :)

I think that is a very wise decision. All mothers are not created equally and like the saying goes "we don't know what we've got until its gone". Good luck

that is a VERY smart decision. you only get one family in this life, and as precious as that is. soemtimes theres exceptions. just you going to her seeking a relationship with her again is a sign that you are very mature, yet even adults are the most immature people on this planet. find an outlet. paint. or learn to play guitar on your free time. dont have pets? get one haha. find that kind of comfort in something else, even if its just for the time being.
