INGREDIENTS
-8 ounces lasagna noodles
-1 pound ground beef
-1/4 cup minced onions
-1 teaspoon salt
-1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
-1 (32 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
-1 (16 ounce) package large curd cottage cheese
-1 pound mozzarella cheese, shredded

DIRECTIONS
-Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
-In a large skillet over medium heat, saute ground beef, onions, salt and garlic salt until meat is brown. Drain excess fat, add spaghetti sauce to beef mixture, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch glass baking pan.
-Line bottom of pan with three lasagna noodles. Spread 1/3 of sauce mixture over noodles. Layer 1/3 of the cottage cheese over the sauce. Sprinkle 1/3 of the mozzarella over the cottage cheese. Repeat this layering process until all ingredients are used up.
-Bake in the preheated oven for one hour. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

2 eggs
2 cups cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
1 jar Prego spaghetti sauce
2 white onions or yellow onions
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 lbs hamburger
3 cups mozzarella cheese
1 can stewed tomatoes
6 slices lasagna noodles

In a bowl combine cottage cheese/ricotta and eggs and mix well.
Set aside.
Cook hamburger and drain fat.
Add onions, garlic, salt, pepper, tomato’s, oregano and mix well with hamburger.
Make sure you drain ½ the juice in the tomatos.
Simmer for 30 minutes on medium heat.
Cook lasagna noodles according to directions on box.
Preheat oven to 375 and spray pan.
Beginning with layering 3 strips of noodles on bottom, then spread Prego sauce, cottage cheese mixture, then the meat.
Repeat once more.
Spread mozzarella cheese over the top.
Bake for 45 minutes or until brown on top.
Cool for 15 minutes and serve.

Better than Ever Cheesy Meat Lasagna


3/4 lb. extra lean ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 jar (26 oz.) spaghetti sauce
1 large tomato, chopped
1 container (16 oz.) BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Low Fat Cottage Cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese
9 lasagna noodles, cooked, drained
2 cups KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Reduced Fat Mozzarella Cheese, divided



PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Brown meat with garlic and oregano in medium saucepan. Stir in spaghetti sauce; simmer 5 min. Remove from heat; stir in tomatoes.

MIX cottage cheese, egg and Parmesan cheese. Spread 1/2 cup of the sauce mixture in 13x9-inch baking dish. Layer 3 noodles, 1 cup of the cottage cheese mixture, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of the remaining sauce mixture in dish.

Repeat layers. Top with remaining 3 noodles and remaining sauce mixture. Cover with foil.

BAKE 30 min. or until heated through. Uncover; top with remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Bake, uncovered, an additional 5 min. or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 min. before serving.

Use any standard recipe for lasagna, and substitute small curd cottage cheese for the ricotta. You might want to drain it if its wet.

CINDY'S LASAGNA
1 package of lasagna noodles
1-1 1/2 jars thick spaghetti sauce
1/2 chopped green pepper
1 large chopped onion
1 large container Ricotta or small curd cottage cheese
2 cups Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1/2 tsp. cracked black pepper
2 eggs
1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
1 large package (3 cups} fancy shredded cheese
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 lb. Italian sausage cooked and chopped
1 lb. ground beef cooked and chopped, then mix meats together
2 cans of mushrooms slices

Sauté onions and peppers in butter or olive oil.
Combine Ricotta or cottage cheese with eggs, Parmesan cheese, cracked black pepper and parsley.

Cook noodles rinse in cold water, drain and separate, set aside, preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large deep non-stick baking pan, layer bottom with spaghetti sauce, about two cups. Next, place a layer of noodles, then sauce until lightly covered, then a thin layer of Rictotta or cottage cheese mixture, meats, onions and peppers, and mushrooms, sprinkle remaining cheeses in layers, one on top another.

When you lay your last layer of noodles, place a thin layer of sauce and (make sure you have saved enough cheeses for the top) over the layer of sauce layer cheeses with the mozzarella on top, bake at 375°F uncovered until the top is golden brown and bubbly

ALL AMERICAN LASAGNA

2 tbsp. cooking oil
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
3/4 lbs. ground beef
3 1/2 c. tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
12 oz. lasagna noodles or other broad noodles
1 c. sm. curd cottage cheese
2 c. coarsely shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 c. coarsely shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Heat oil in large heavy saucepan. Add onion and garlic and cook until tender. Add ground beef and cook until meat is brown. Mash tomatoes. Add to ground meat mixture. Stir in tomato paste, salt, oregano and black pepper. Simmer about 2 hours, or until sauce is thick.
Cook lasagna noodles in boiling salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Rinse lasagna with cool water until noodles are cool enough to handle; drain. Lightly grease a 9"x13" pan. Arrange 1/3 of the noodles in pan; cover with 1/3 of meat sauce, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers twice. Bake in moderate oven, 340 degrees, for 40 minutes. Serve at once. This food freezes well.


3 CHEESE LASAGNA

1 box lasagna pasta
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. brick Mozzarella cheese
1 (16 oz.) sm. curd cottage cheese
1 med. size Ragu sauce
Parmesan cheese

Brown ground beef and drain; add to Ragu sauce and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Grease bottom and sides of a 9x13 pan. Layer ingredients in this order: pasta, dotted spoonfuls of cottage cheese, sprinkled shredded Mozzarella cheese, and meat sauce.
Continue layering to depth of approximately 1 1/2 inch to 2 inches. After last layering, sprinkle Parmesan cheese generously over the top of the casserole.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes uncovered on middle rack of oven. MICROWAVE: Use glass pan, cover with plastic wrap, and bake on high for 20 minutes
