It's a 3.8 v-6 and comes with a timing chain that's hidden behind a front cover that requires water pump removal among other things to get at it. It's very durable and I've seen many at 150-200k miles that's never been changed as long as you keep up with maintaince

Belt. Will run you about $180 to get it replaced. If you do it yourself be very careful to get it set right since it's a zero tolerance motor.

look under the hood. do you see a belt? then you have a belt, if you just see a big cover, then its a chain
