the first thing i noticed was a very sore throat on a monday and it went away the next day...for the rest of the week ive had very bad coughing and everything hurts and sometimes i cough so much that i nearly vomit it is worse at night and i dont think it is post nasal drip because theres been nothing wrong with my nose really...its been lasting for going on 2 weeks now the cough wont go away no matter what medicines i take
its like a dry cough so i dont think it can be bronchitis i dont know though

You should see a doctor if this has been going on for 2 weeks. You have sinuses that can drain, even though you don't have anything going on in your nose. My sons have asthma and allergies and they both came down with this, and the doctor did say the coughing was from sinuses draining. But the only to be able to tell you for sure is your doctor. Hope you feel better...

You should go to the doctor, it is serious enough to get medical attention. There are several medical issues that a dry cough can be a symptom of: the scary ones are pneumonia and TB. It could just be a bacterial upper respiratory infection, but that can turn into pneumonia if untreated. Two weeks is long enough, antibiotics may be needed even if it is a "minor" infection.

A lady I work with has the same thing. She's been taking cough medicine and says it's finally starting to get better. If it's unbearable for you or the ones around you, you should go to the doctor.

If you have a cough for more than a week you have to go to the ER. You probably have a bacterial infection in your chest and throat. They'll give antibiotics. This is a common complication of colds.

As a guy myself, I must admit that I usually wait as long as I can before going to the Dr.
With your symptoms I think I already would have been at the Dr's office a while ago. Don't delay any longer.

My bf's getting over the same thing though his didn't last as long as yours. My theory is: when in doubt, go to the dr's. You could just have a persistent cold but you should go and get checked out just in case. Good luck and get well soon!

Yes you have a serious problem...you've been seriously ill for 2 weeks and you're asking your question online instead of seeking medical help. Go to the doctor or hospital already...

Maybe you have a Strep Throat, I had something similar to that, they gave me Penicylen and it went away...but you should go see a doctor before they say ''You should've come sooner''...
