Are you guys kidding...how awful can you be??? I didn't ask for comments to keep on bashing. Thats why this world is going down, awful ppl.

People like to bash things they don't understand - and many people don't understand the Catholic faith.
People like to bash things that are different - and Catholics have a core of beliefs that don't change with the popular polls or convenience.
People like to bash beliefs that are different from theirs, and Catholics don't accept some things simply because it is popular or cool or because a lot of famous people believe it.
People like to bash easy targets - and as a large, international and historic Church, the Roman Catholic Church is an easy target.

They bash Catholics because they don't understand the faith. They don't understand the history and heritage that the Catholic faith offers. They just assume things, or even worse, make crap up about the Catholic Church - such as the Pope is the Antichrist.
Why do they do this? Fear. I don't know why - but there is fear, which then fuels hate. Misconceptions also play a big role. Protestant pastors teach their congergations lies about Catholics, which they in turn teach to other people. It's spreads like a vile fire. People are too lazy to actually go learn for themselves what being a Catholic means and just takes someone's word for it.
Catholics have been bashed for centuries, it hasn't stopped the church. I doubt it will in the future. And next time someone bashes Catholics - look at what they are actually saying. Research it. I guarentee you it's not true. A friend of mine had to relearn everything she knew about Catholics because her own pastor -someone she trusted - filled her head up with lies.
And by the way - for those that cry out about sex scandels - there was a whole string of Baptist preachers in the bible belt who molested children. Didn't hear about that on the news did you? Child molesters are in all walks of life, doctors, nurses, priests, preachers, teachers, day care workers etc. Rarely are they unemployed and scary looking. The Catholic Church is run by humans and is subject to the corruption of humans. So is everything else in life. These priests make up less then 1% of the entire priest population in America.
And next time you harp on all Catholic priests being child abusers - look up how many lay people live near you are registered sex offenders.

It's just from people that can't differentiate between a Catholic and a wrong doing Catholic. Anyone with a little intelligence knows not all ppl are the same.
Some just like to look at the bad things for sensation and overlook the good. Even I don't follow the cath. Church I still see how much they helped in the third world.
Just keep the faith.

I think it's because they've been taught a lot of things about the Catholic church that just aren't true. And rather than ask a Catholic or read a copy of the catechism for themselves, it's easier to accept what they've been told.
If they understood the basis for why we believe what we believe, I don't think they'd be as quick to bash us. I've seen that in my own family. . .after I've given them the reason for a point of doctrine, it makes perfect sense to them.

To contradict the guy named chris up there, WE DON'T HAVE SEX WITH LITTLE KIDS. They bash on us because we say adultery is wrong, we go to church instead of going to parties ect, ect. Yeah, we killed people, not good, but hey, that was because the church believed everyone was wrong, like poor Galileo *Sniff*. They bash on us because we believe in the whole angels thing, and make fun of us because occasionally I, and other people, have been known to flinch when someone says "Go to hell." Basically, we're supposed to be the goody-goodies, but we're not, and that gets people freaked out.

They are either ignorant of what the Catholic Church actually teaches or they do not like what the Catholic Church stands for. They are of the mind set that if you do not like something, attack it.
It is sad.

it's easy for people to act like little kids then grown ups, yes we have differences but we shouldn't bash on anyone.

People mock that which they don't understand.
Fools delight in their foolishness
History is no good reason to mock the individuals that had no part in it. We live in today, we don't dwell in the past.
Hypocrisy is everywhere, not just in the Catholic Church

Catholics often think they are being BASHED when in reality someone like me points out ERROR in Vatican Teachings.
The Bible calls it "Another Gospel".
Look it up.
