1. 50 cent Beer until 10pm - This usually gets people in the door and you only make coors or some other cheap beer 50 cents
2. Get a great band to come a play
3. Hook up with a local radio station and have them broadcast from your bar
4. If you live near a town that has professional athletic teams, get the cheerleaders to come out to your bar and host an evening with the Laker Girls or whatever your team is
5. Have a madden night -- Get a couple of Xboxes or playstations and hook them up to big screen televisions and have a Madden '07 tournament -- these are always huge and attract tons of people
6. Host a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament and give the winner a free bar tab -- Poker players will definitely come out
7. Do ladies night where ladies drink free -- the ladies will come and the men will follow them
8. Have a huge party for March Madness and bring in lots of Big Screen TVs and promote it with all of the local media (newspapers, tv, etc)
9. If you have a college in your town...make Thursday night college night and give anyone (21 or over of course) who has a college ID, 1 free drink.....they willc ome running
10. Get hot girls to come in as guest bartenders
11. Hire a couple of girls to dance on the bar (Kind of like a Coyote Ugly type of theme)

The best thing to do is find out all the lame ideas that your competing bars are doing and do the opposite. Another thing to consider is why type of audience you want to bring in. Is your bar designed to attracted pitcher swilling fraternity brothers or high class couples drinking cosmos. Make sure you are targeting the right audience with your promotions.

Time is a big factor at lunch so a "quick lunch" menu would be great. a small selection of menu items that you can have on the table in a short amount of time. When I was working I only had an hour for lunch and I got a bit tired of sandwiches all the time but that was usually the only option I had because of time constraints. If I could have sat down and had a "proper", healthy lunch and been back at my desk within an hour I would have been a regular at that restaurant

make special night like free wings with the purchase of a pitcher of beer on Monday nights. get a DJ to play music on some nights. (different nights play different types of music)
or like Thursdays ladies drink at half price. ( use whatever day of the week you want)
or as guys would love to see topless women
oh men also like sports have a big TV showing a game and a few smaller ones showing other sports games.

Get a monkey for the bartender. I would definitely go to a bar with a monkey bartending, plus they would probably be more efficent than a human because they can use their feet as hands!

Go to this site http://www.freewebs.com/originalsong/ and have them write an audio logo "jingle" a good catchy jingle with a good branding statement is always a good way to go. They are very good at branding.
