Hi Kimalyn!

Well, I guess we all know astralpen won't be getting a "best answer" nod. Of course, literally, he is correct.

I have been to more than a dozen caribbean isles and I do like different things about all of them. Unlike P.B. Floyd I found St Lucians to be very friendly. I even got invited into a kitchen that had a 200 year old stone oven that made the best pastries. Plus, St Lucia has the most "south pacific" type of topography. It's beautiful.

I like Grand Cayman for the water and beaches but it is flat as a flapjack and I do like mnts if I am going to pick a fav.

St Kitts and Nevis are beautiful islands with friendly people. I have this great shot of Nevis which is one mount with this one cloud over it. but would I pick it for a fav? Hmmm...

Grenada, nutmeg icecream and again, friendly people. I was lucky enough on a walk to meet and play ball with a grandpa, grandson, and their dog. The gentlema's biggest fear was that his grandson would grow up and leave the island but he said, "but how can i wish the boy to stay here". Like most of the Caribe, Grenada has a lot of unemployment and poverty. Strong people, but would this be my pick...

Dominca, newly free (when i was there) from british rule and struggling. The largest waterfall in the Caribbean. Simply awesome! I watched a Cricket match with an English couple on holiday and I am assured I will never understand it! :-) would I choose this one....

Barbados, with it's 300 year old "Washington worshipped here" churches, Trafalgar Square and English charm and even has rolling hills down to the sea like parts of England. Could this be it?

or St Martin/Maarten where i sat in a bar with only islanders and CNN was on the tv. This was just before the Iraq war was started. I ask them their opinion and most all of them just wanted it to start or not. Stop the waiting so that people would start traveling again. Understandable from their pov. Lively group of guys tho'. Fun night. This has to be the one but ....

St Thomas, with the most beautiful island port and all the Virgin Islands a short ferry ride away . This one maybe...

No, I have to say my favorite caribbean island is............... the next one I visit! I think, what nature, history, people, experiences will be on that island?

Sorry for being so rambling but hey...you asked!

Besides, I really hope that one day, my fav island will be the one I'm living on!

Oh, and Alexis, That would be way freakin cool!!

Take care,

=CD=

St Kitts and Nevis

The Island is beautiful and they have strick laws about pandering. If someone tries to sell you something and you say no. They are gone!!!! Beaches are nice and rain forest is accessible. Not as built up as some of the more popular islands. Not as good for shopping but great for relaxing and sunning. Gulf courses too.

It look like a baseball and bat in the Ocean
