I have to buy a new loaf every 4-5 days because mold grows so quickly. I'm living in a dorm/uni flat and I don't have a fridge. The coolest place is the shelf against the window. Will that be alright?

Just put in a tinfoil and in a bag and leave it outside the window. With the low temperatures these days you will have better than a fridge. Otherwise toast it and then just cover it well.

Try buying smaller loaves of bread, or getting a 'tiny fridge' that you can also use as a 'table' next to your bed. Setting your bread in the 'coolest place' won't stop it from 'molding' although it may 'slow the mold growth down' a bit ... and you could get 'extremely ill' from eating 'slightly moldy' bread. Or, you could start using only things like 'crackers' or 'pilot bread' that are made to be kept without refrigeration ... and only eat 'real bread' that you can order with a 'cooked meal' from a cafe or restaurant.

Maybe you can split the loaf with one of your dorm mates when you buy it.

Put it in the freezer, and make sure that the bread raper stays closed.
