I see you had an answer from Jessica suggesting Eilat.
I've been to Eilat many, many times - but you don't go there to see Israel.
When you are in Eilat you could be in a thousand other seaside resorts around the world.
Big hotels, cabarets, watersports.
That's why my wife and I go there - you are guaranteed good weather - but if you want to see Israel, the Holy Land, then you go further north.
If you would like to tour, the best place to stay is Netanya.
Remember the bottom half of the country is dessert with Eilat right down the bottom almost cut off from the rest of the country.
Netanya is about a central as you can get in the inhabited part.
Suggest the Park Hotel. Try to get a room overlooking the park.
It's not too expensive, I think it's a 3 star. If you want better, there's a Hilton there.

Jerusalem is glorious! If you are a Christian, it will be one of the greatest thrills of your life to walk where Jesus walked and visit the historical sites of the Bible. It is a stunningly beautiful city. The Galille is also spectacular as is the region of Judah. The landscape changes from desert (several different kinds) to lush green rolling hills to mountains. Tel Aviv and Joppa are also wonderful. Its is compact so you can see a lot in a short period of time. Don't forget the Dead Sea. You think it will be brown or gray but the water is bright turquoise.

Wonderful. The nicest people. The terrain is similar to So. California, varied and beautiful. The Jewish people really made an oasis out of that little piece of desert.
It's not what you think from the news. In Jerusalem, the Palestinians live and work along side the Jews and get along fine. The Palestinians have all rights there, including the right to vote (in spite of what you may hear). The history of the area is overwhelming, especially if you are Christian. I know people that go there every year; I wish that I was there right now.

Its really pretty, and everyone is really friendly. I go there every summer to visit my grandparents. The temperature is perfect, the hot days and the warm nights, everyone is out at night because its not cold at night like in america. Jerusalem, the old city, is beautiful, and so is ceasaria, all the roman ruins. Tel aviv is a really fun place to visit too, there is tons to do there. Just go and have fun!
