It might not have been the cinnamon cake that gave you the runs. Have you considered other sources? If you a large amount of the cake it may have been all the fat that you consumed. Or maybe you had an intestinal virus that had nothing to do with the cake. Try eating cinnamon with an innocuous food like toast and see if it produces the same result if you want to see if you are allergic to cinnamon.

you're cinnamon intollerant.. hehe. Try the mixture of 2 TBSP cinnamon and 2 TBSP unpasteurized honey - you can purchase that from private honey bee keepers. Pasteurized honey is mostly glucose and 2 percent nutrients. If you can't tolerate the cinnamon in this concentration, start small. I don't think you have an allergy. You'd have serious reactions if you were allergic, such as breathing problems, and the like.

having diarhea with a specific food product doesn't mean you are allergic to it, it just means you have an intolerance for it in large amounts. So, if indeed it was the cinnamon causing your problem, simply stay away from it for a while and then re-introduce it in very small amounts, until you know what your tolerance for it is.
