When my guy calls me 'sweetie' or something, I'll use the same thing as he did and call him 'sweetie' to? Is that what a guy wants or does a guy want you to be more creative and give him a different pet name, like 'honey'. Am I being dull and unimagintive there for being less romantic. If he has a pet name he calls me, should I think up a different one for him? Or should I just forget about the pet names express my romantic side in a completely different way or something. I am not good at pet names and I don't want to go overboard with something like 'love' or turn him off and be lame with something like 'sweetums' sweetie pie honey bunn'

You call him whatever you feel compelled to call him. You don't have to call him a pet name if you're not comfortable doing it and, just because he calls YOU a pet name doesn't require one in return. It has nothing to do with imagination. It has to do with heart and how you were raised. If you show him your affection openly, it doesn't matter whether you call him by his given name or something more creative. Actions speak louder than words--or names!

It sounds like he likes you but I'd ask for a more unique pet name. Every other guy uses those. If he won't switch, he might be seeing other women and uses those so he will never mix you up with someone else.

When he calls you a pet name his is simply being affectionate so you shouldnt waste your time thinking about it you should just be natural and show him affection back in a way that feels natural to you.

Call him whatever you're comfortable with. That may just be his name.

Men like to give sweet names to their women because of their sweet and feminine nature (as strong a woman can be, she is still the symbol of sweetness) but they would appreciate a manly name for themselves. I'm sure you can find the right thing for your man you know him better you know what his attributes are and what would suit him.

Hmmm... I dont know. My fiancee calls me bunnie...and I usally just call him hunnie. Talk to your man and ask him if he wants a particular pet name...or call him something thats special to you. Like if he's like a teddy bear you can call him his name with bear on the end. (i.e. AndyBear).

Yes...if he cares enough about you to give you a pet name...give him something to boost him ego. Lover boy sounds really good. But remember, its not what you say...its how you say it.

Be yourself. You want him to love you, not the person you could pretend to be.
