how often should i run ccleaner?

and possibly other similar software such as virus scanners and spyware detectors. everyday, once a week, every month? any advice please. i want to schedule these tasks so that my computer runs smooth and safe.

Well Ccleaner takes only a minute to run so you can do this daily.
I would recommend antispyware & antivrus once a week

Generally I run ccleaner whenever I uninstall software and ocasionally run it just to clean things up a bit.

Antispyware I run about once a week or more often if I think I have been to a site that could have put nasties of my machine.

Most antiviruses should scan files as they are accessed and may aso do a background scan as you use the PC.

Really this depends on how paranoid you are about security, at least once a month is probably advisable as a minimum.

Ccleaner - use the Issues tool after uninstalling software, and the Cleaner every day.
Ad-Aware SE Personal - you can run a fast scan every day and a full scan once a week.
Spybot Search and Destroy - update on Fridays (its when the updates are put on the server) then Immunise. Then run a full scan.
Ewido/AVG anti spyware - run a fast scan every day and a full scan once a week.
Anti virus - fast scan once a week, full scan once a month (if it runs in the background eg Avast or AVG anti virus)

Install Spywareblaster, update that and your firewall once a week.
Update your anti spyware and anti virus every day if possible, otherwise every other day.

I run ccleaner once aweek, it depends on how much you use your computer, virus check and spyware check every night after the kids have been on the internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They run in the background so you can carry on with whatever you are doing.

I suppose it all depends on how much you use your computer and the internet in particular.

I tend to run adaware every 2-3 days and crapcleaner most days, just to keep my history clear.

I am on the internet for at least 2 hours a day.

I scan every night when I am finished also spyware.

Its personal preference/ I use the computer all the time.

beater safe than sorry,set your scan to run every time you switch your computer on,that way you wont forget the last time you applied your virus scan.

i usually do it twice a week, just do it whenever your computer laggs
