Will you tell me about your experience in the U.S. Coast Guard?

I think the CG is the best service. We save people, we are the lifesaving service as they say. We protect the homeland!

I like it, I'm an officer and work in a command center. We get all the calls for help or for any incidents that occur and we dispatch all the right people to go out and help or investigate.

I've been in for 2 years so far and plan to stay in for 20. I'd like to teach at the CG Academy eventually but not before I get to try different fields within the CG such as domestic vessel inspections, facility inspections, pollution, foreign vessel inspections, etc.

It's a great career and if you are still young I recommend going to the CG Academy to get an education. They will pay for your college, pay you while you are there and then you become an officer. All you have to do is pay it back by staying in the CG for 5 years. That's pretty easy and you get a free education.
