Why not go straight to 2007. It is the latest and greatest and office 2003 works fine been using for 3 years now. Just upgrade to 2007 and working fine so far

Were I work half the office users Office 2000, the rest 2003.

Funny enough it's the 2003 users who have all the usability problems :-)

So - waste you money if you want to, but Office 2000 is fine for 99% of normal users.

you should of course update it, because the majority of people now use ms office 2003. this is often called the ''standard edition''. the most used ones are always good to have. if you are interested, you can even get the latest version, which is ms office 2007, but i would advise you 2003, because of its vast use. you need to get an installation cd or you can update it online as well. good luck.

can not move. you'll decide on to apply a similar key as grow to be used contained in the former workstation and re-set up from the unique CD. once you've a licensing situation or activation subject matters, you may call Microsoft's licensing branch and clarify your situation. solid success.

Install OpenOffice instead. It's free and is compatible with MS office and other office suites. See http://www.openoffice.org
