They asked for an investigation a while back but it was granted yesterday after it became clear that there had been false statements made to Congressmen regarding the reason the border patrol officers were prosecuted.

"McCaul and several other House members from the Houston area who are involved in the Border Patrol agents' case said the misstatements never would have come to light had they not forced Skinner's office to release an investigative report on the shooting.

The report, released Wednesday with some sections deleted, does not substantiate what McCaul said were some of the more inflammatory claims made by the inspector general's office last fall. The claims included the alleged "shoot a Mexican" comment and an assertion that agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos had no fear for their lives when they fired 15 rounds at the trafficker as he ran back toward Mexico after ditching a van with 743 pounds of marijuana."

What do you think of all of this?

With all the "new" evidence coming to light it seems only right that there be an investigation into the case. This has been a railroading from the start. This is the strangest case Ive heard of in a long time. The two agents were framed that's pretty clear. But Id like to know why and to what end.? It sounds to me as if money greased a lot of palms in this one. Also the fact that the drug smugglers mother actually initiated this case by calling her friend here in the US.Who is the mother in law of a high up Border Patrol Agent.Hmmm Very strange to me and to most thinking Americans.

This case has stunk since day one. Yes Johnny Sutton, Debra Kanof, Skinner, et al need to be prosecuted and thrown in jail

Dizneyfreak: Dana Roharabacher from California and I agree. Bush should be impeached for this. He stood on National TV and lied to the American people when he said there was a process. He knows the process. All he had to do is sign. He is in a position where he could pick up a phone and have it done in less than 10 minutes. He never intended to do anything.

All you have to do is follow the money and see who is getting paid. Drug smugglers mother calls a border patrol agent in Arizona who calls DHS. DHS Skinner used to work for Johnny Sutton who turned Debra Kanof loose on the agents. The incident happened in Texas and guess where Bush is from?

Message: don't mess with the drugs in Texas.

What do I think? The agents be pardoned, reinstated with full back pay, and given full restitution for any and all losses they have incurred.

They admitted to telling a lie. Bush won't even look at the issue. Skinner should be fired and sent to jail. Everyone in that office that was involved should be fired. The Texas DA should be investigated, tried and jailed. Let him be put into that same Mississippi prison where Nacho was beat up - he deserves it.

I can't remember what congressman it was but someone said that if either agent is killed in prison, he will start impeachment proceeding against Bush. Bush could lessen this whole mess with a simple signature.

This whole thing stinks "like yesterday's diapers" - quote from Baby Herman on "Who framed Roger Rabbit." I think is fits! The agents were framed.

Travesty of justice. The message from Cheney, Bush, Gonzalez and Company to the border patrol agents is:

Do not stop our cheap labor from coming into this country or you will be beaten, tortured and quite possibly murdered as you rot in jail.
