I've been telling my co-worker that I think her son is handsome. He's a babe. I don't know if she likes it or not....should I just shut up about it? I'm not trying to hook up with him or anything - well actually, I wish he would go for a date with my neice.... Do mom's like it when women say their son is hot? Are they flattered or insulted?

Probably not as flattered as you might think. Some parents are very protective about their children and would rather not hear "compliments" as casual as this one. She may be embarrassed, but won't ever admit this.

It is in your best interest to close this issue, since your remarks have already been shared, so just move on. You made your point! You don't need to keep repeating yourself and risk the chance of upsetting the parent, do you?

Play it safe, avoid the discussion already! Change the topic, and if it comes up again, just shrug. You don't need to address it anymore, regardless of how passionate you feel, how true it is or how innocent your intentions.

Wow...I can only imagine the chaos that's going through his mind. Umm...half of this stuff isn't even believeable so I'm on the verge of considering you a troll. (Having sex in the kids' bedroom is a bit 'out there'.) When/If he comes home, you should (have already) introduce(d) him to the co-worker. Tell him that as a woman, this is your way of moving on from the marriage. If he doesn't accept it, that's understandable,. Just give him some time to mull over what he's just witnessed.

Sweetie, how much boasting can one person do? I don't think it's anything wrong giving your co-worker's son or anybody nice compliments but I wouldn't want to continuously hear them over and over and over again. I don't think this applies to just mom's in general, I believe it goes for everybody. Repeated comments and remarks and can get really old really fast so if anything, make that your last flattering comment about him. If you want him to meet your niece than make it happen but enough with all of the boasting. He is not the hottest young man in the world.....move on please.

Goodluck!!

If you said something like..... your son is really handsome, not really a big deal (it should be a compliment). If you said......... he's really hot or is a babe and you go on and on about it, it sounds a bit odd (to the point of eerie).
If you think your niece might be interested, tell your co-worker that you think he would be perfect for your niece. And for heavens sake stop complimenting so much about her son, you've said it once and its appreciated, say it over and over and it sounds more like your interested in him.

Okay to say once or twice but goodness don't go on about it - for one thing that's boring and I'm sure your co-worker would like to think of her son not just as a 'hottie'. If you want to hook him up with your niece then ask!

Depends on how old you are. If you're less than 25 and within his age range then it might be a bit uncomfortable for her. If you're over 25 or so they she probably won't mind. My mom seems to be proud in this same situation, but it depends on the person.

If you are about the same age as her, she probably understands your stance (that you're not interested in him). But you shouldn't talk about it all the time, because that would make it seem like you were interested. A lot of people have said to my parents that me and my brother are good-looking, and they don't care as long as people don't act all obsessed about it.

I would watch what you say, she might take it wrong. I wouldnt say that because if your over 18 it could be against the law, just be careful.
