If the two of you have exchanged sex paraphanalia before -- or at least discussed exchanging it -- then go for it! But I don't recommend springing it on her as a surprise until you have a better idea how she'll take it.

Why does everyone automatically think that you mean 'the dirty kind' of vibrator for your girlfriend. Maybe you are simply interested in giving her a 'really nice massage' to relax her, and think a 'vibrator' would help. I think that is a WONDERFUL idea! As for the 'dirty kind' ... that would depend on 'how close you are' and how 'often' you can be there 'instead of' that vibrator ... but if you are 'seriously close' and simply love her enough to want to 'intensify' the pleasure she already gets with you, then that, too, is a 'wonderful' gift.

I think it's a great gift! But here's the thing. You have to give it to her and let her experiment with it a bit by herself. Don't give the gift with the expectation that she will put on a show for you. Maybe she will in time, but if you want to give it to her, let her enjoy it for a bit and get used to it (especially if it's her first one) before you bring up the idea of you both enjoying the gift. Also, give her something else with it that's non-sexual. Something that can absorb the tension and give her something else to focus on if she's offended or thinks it's awkward in some way.
