Why oh why do you need evidence for a simple definition.

Atheists simply do not believe in any God. They can believe in
all sorts of religion as long as there is no God.

Why is that so difficult to understand or for Christians to tolerate?

Out of all the atrocities human beings have inflicted on each other, there are none, in scope or scale, that have been interrupted directly by God. There is no point in asking what it will take for God to intervene. The answer is-- nothing. Every effect in the world attributed to God can alternately be attributed to a natural process, human effort or sheer coincidence. God is so slick that he never leaves irrefutable evidence of his existence, anywhere, anytime. IF God exists, he wants it kept a secret, a matter of faith, not fact. In such a case, the purpose of God is doubtful.

Christians have given God the job of judging you after you die, when there's no opportunity for reform. Yet there are no reliable guideposts for living a "good" life except people's say-sos, and they don't agree. You've no way of knowing if you're on the right path. It's as if God sets us down in a minefield and promises to show us our score when we get to the goal. (A map would be appreciated.)

With the stakes so high and the rules so nebulous, God's credibility is pretty shakey. Neither Justice nor Mercy fit into the equation. It's more like random luck. How is this different from not having a god at all?

The evidence to support Atheism is the lack of evidence supporting Theism.

I agree - the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and The teeth Fairy were over the different day, and all of us got here to the proper that even regardless of the reality that thousands of scientists (who're extremely smart and knowledgeable) can educate the concept of Evolution, it really is obviously incorrect, because the Earth grow to be in hardship-free words created 2000 years in the past. Or so the bible tells me so. Gee, i wager the shown reality that carbon courting proves the Earth has been round like 600 million years, that people quite do percentage genetic links to primates, or the sheer volume of different clinical information has thoroughly escaped you? There hasn't ever been, nor will there ever be, data of any omnipotent being jointly with a god. how are you going to educate that a figment of your mind's eye exists? What, because there's a e book about it, it should be authentic? per chance in yet another 2000 years, people will be believing that Harry Potter walked the Earth. it truly is purely as ridiculous. it really is those who have self assurance in god, not the athiests, who do not decide on to face the reality (or the data). And to those who declare the the concept of Evolution has been disproved, they're incorrect. The skeleton of what's concept to be the first human grow to be stumbled on in Africa, and grow to be carbon dated to educate that is over 600,000 years previous. there is mitochondrial DNA that shows the link between the first people, and apes. Ever been to a museum? people developed from crawling on all fours to status upright. The bible tries to say that god created guy from airborne dirt and mud. Bullcrap. the position are the dinosaurs pronounced contained in the bible? Or am I meant to have self assurance that they did not quite exist?

Scientific observation. The fact that things once seen as miracles can be explained by science and logic. Can you disprove atheism? The more we as a species learn about our universe the more we will be able to answer such questions with affirmity.

There are so many reasons, I hardly know where to begin...

Occam's Razor. The simplest answer is the best; no need to make up bizarre fairy tales that just don't jive with anything else we know about the world.

Every religion is just chock-full of statements that are easily disproven.

Everything in life happens from physical cause and effect. There is no room for a magical sky thing messing around with events. Every event has a real cause, not a spiritual one.

Also, everything that makes us who we are is in our brain. Experiences, memory, personality, everything. When we die, our brain rots. Nothing of you left.

Just a few things to think about...

No one has ever come up with ANY evidence to support the idea of a God or Gods. So why would any rational and intelligent person believe in a fairy tale?

We don't have to come up with evidence FOR atheism. Atheism is the default position while the religious nuts scramble to try to justify their silly beliefs.

Mainly it is supported by a strong lack of evidence for any of the religions. There is, so some of us think, no rational reason to believe in god.

If you find that hard to comprehend - consider this - why don't you believe in Apollo the Sun god? Because it doesn't make any sense to you and because you find plenty of other things to believe in.

WHAT EVIDENCE SUPPORTS GOD?

The evidence should be supplied by the party who postulate something, not those who deny it.

Can you deny that there are tiny, smaller than we are able to sense, teapots are orbiting jupiter? No, you can't. We assume they don't exist because they cannot be proven. Not assume they exist because we can't prove they don't.

...evidence of atheism? Are you serious?

There is no "evidence of atheism", just like there's no "evidence of theism". These are positions, not concrete entities.

Atheism is a lack of belief in gods, and theism is a belief in one or more gods. Why do you need evidence? They're self-evident.

The only thing you need evidence for is the veracity of a positive claim.
