my son is already charming the girls at preschool... and he has a little "girlfriend". he wants to use all of his allowance money to buy her a huge box of candy. while i think this is adorable, i hate to watch him waste all his money on this girl who i'm not sure feels the same way about him. she loves the attention (according to her mom) but i need to explain this to him

he gets an allowance because we have the money and he is very helpful around the house. i doubt your kids room is as clean as mine or that your kid is as well mannered as my son

Why is a preschooler getting an allowance to begin with? They are much too young to understand the concept of money. If you are going to give him money and let him do what he wants with it, then you have to do just that.

he is in preschool and getting an allowance? and wanting to buy a present for another preschooler? ha ha ha around here, preschooler means a 3 year old- you are the parent, say, that is nice of you to think of someone else but no
yeah I doubt my son's room is as clean either, he is 18, as for manners..if your son's are anything like yours..then he must be a little snot

He's in preschool!! She can't "feel a way about him". All preschoolers just play and have fun together, except for the "bad kids". Help him make her a card, or bake her some cookies...he shouldn't spend any money or her.

A little lover on your hands...i have three boys that are the same. I wouldln't let him spend all his money on candy for her, he is still to young for all this. If he does find her "special" maybe an extra herseys kiss, snickers, nerds, whatever he is handing out at valentines day would be okay. He could make his own card for her (good luck he is a boy)!

I would agree, have him create things, instead of using the money, and start teaching him good money spending and saving, it is good to start this young, as long as you set guidelines on what he can and can not buy.

Let him make her something instead. Tell him that she will like it better (which she probably would) then tape some candy to it.
