not exactly sure what you are wanting...
on the ocean..try to express motion ..if you mean color ..depends.. water can reflect the colors of the sky and vice versa.....if you use green ,blue , brown ..in the water than use it in the sky also...if you have a bright red sky than this should be reflected in the water....
hell...depends on your perception of what hell is...some people think flames ,fire...hot...use hot colors....some people see hell as being cold and barren...cool colors.......
Night ....dark..smoky ...blues,purple... ..indicate stars...maybe the moon...with objects casting shadows from the moon light....
