Aedes aegypti, the primary mosquito vector responsible for the transmission of both the yellow fever and dengue fever viruses, is the focus of a current NIH-NIAID funded genomics project. Following submission of a White Paper entitled A Proposal for the Sequencing of the Genome of the Mosquito, Aedes aegypti, the NIAID sponsored microbial sequencing centres have been funded to generate the sequence of the Liverpool strain of A. aegypti using the random whole genome approach. The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) and The Broad Institute, NIAID's contract sequencing sites, will jointly participate in this sequencing. The whole genome effort is complemented by an ongoing NIAID funded genome effort (U01-AI050936) to generate cDNA sequence data from a variety of A. aegypti normalized cDNA libraries using A. aegypti infected with Plasmodium gallinaceum, Brugia malayi and dengue fever as well as a fat body derived cDNA library. To date greater than 120,000 cDNA sequences have been generated which are available for search and download as part of an A. aegypti gene index. In addition the project has generated sequence data from both ends of 50,000 BAC clones which will assist in scaffolding of the final genome assembly.

I don't know but I haven't heard about this in such a long time. It gives the Dengue fever I belive. It can seriously hurt someone. Although I havent heard about it here, in the US. I assume it's its scientific name in some way, or was named by some other country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aedes_aegypti
