I'm serious and I mean no attack of any kind in this question. The stories of many religions follow a similar pattern as fairytales. We even have other beings that have magical powers like God that we accept as just a fictional story without a second thought (Tooth Fairy, Santa, etc.) Seeing this fairytale like air to the story of your religion, how do you reconcile it within yourself that THIS ONE is real? After truly sitting down and thinking about this similarity, what is it that makes you say "Yes, this religion is the truth"? What convinces you OR how do you accept this similarity to fairytales?
I'm not saying your religion is a fairytale with this question. I'm saying it may have a similar theme or concepts and the supernatural factor.

It doesn't have to be logical or "proof" of anything. I just want YOUR internal reasoning.

I would quip that religious myths usually have a more symbolic side to them. While the tooth fairy is very simplistic, the story of the Garden of Eden (for example) is very symbolic for the lost innocence of children.
Why people believe them? Childhood indoctrination.

I validate it through all the other evidence that says the Bible is telling the truth. There is plenty of external evidence that confirms what we read in the bible.
1. Geography
2. Texts
3. Toponymy
4. Archaeology
Geography- If you study the geography of Israel you would see how it affected the settlement patterns, routes of travel commerce, econmy, politics and thus the history of that time. The geography of the Biblical Israel confirms what we read in the Bible.
Texts- There are extra-biblical texts (texts outside the Bible) that also confirm what is written in scripture. Egyptian sources are primarily from the 2nd millenium BCE. There are 4 types.
1) Expedition journal and topographical lists- example is Thutmose III.
2) Literary papyri-example, Journey of Sinuhe
3) Execration texts- 2 sets (ursing)
4) Coorespondance archives- El Amarna letters
Other Extra Biblical texts include Mesopotamian sources, from Syria the Ebla texts, from Transjordan the Mesha Stele, from Israel the Tel Dan inscription.
Also look at authors like the famous historian Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny the younger, Julius Africanus, and the Talmud.
Toponymy- the study of place names. If you study the cities and other names in the Bible you will see that they have the Principles of Location which prove they really did exist. Those are:
1) Near a water source.
2) Defensible.
3) Continuity of the name through the centuries.
4) It fits with the geography described in the text.
5) Check data from archaelogical surveys.
No one would settle in a place that did not have these Principles of Location. If you check in the Bible, no one did (unless they were hiding)
Archaeology- If we dig in Israel and find ancient sites that are consistent with where the Bible said we would find them, that shows the Bible's history and geography are accurate. One prominate archaeologist carefully examined Luke's references to 32 countries, 54 cities, and 9 islands, finding not a single mistake. These are only some sites that have been excavated: The Pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-15, the Pool of Siloam from John 9:7, Jacob's well from John 4:12, even Pontius Pilate's identity has been confirmed by archaeology! John McRay PH. D. was asked if he had ever encountered an archaeological finding that blatantly contravene a New Testament reference he responded, "Archaeology has not produced anything that is unequivocally a contradiction to the Bible. On the contrary, there have been many opinions of skeptical scholars that have become codified into 'fact' over the years but that archaeology has shown to be wrong."

Want to hear a fairytale? According to the current theory, we all live on a membrane, the whole universe is on a membrane. It may be a finite membrane with a shadow membrane parallel to it or it may be an infinite membrane that is warped but it is a membrane. The universe may have come into existence when two 11 dimensional membranes collided. Or it may have come into existence at the big bang or it may.... an so on. We believe currently the big bang theory, at least most physicists do though the membrane seems to be growing in popularity. I am inclining towards the membrane, But you think that the idea of a divine being is outre when you consider this stuff?

Well, faith is somethimes beleiving in something that you can't always explain or see.
Also the Bible is the word of God, and more than 80% of the prophecies in the Bible have already come true. Some are in making, and are in the news as we speak. If you know your bible and watch world events you can see God's word and plan unfolding. When you allow Christ into your heart, you will see that it is not a fairlytale, and you will see Him change your heart and your life.

Well faith IS my first answer. But for the sake of an answer you may be more likely to accept: because there is significant archeological and historical SECULAR proof. Please read "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell if you are truly interested in a valid secular answer to your question.

It has been said that if you are around something long enough ... you will begin to identify with it. (Even evil -- "First we abhor it. Then we tolerate it. Finally we embrace it")
Indoctrination from an early age is difficult to emerge from, if ever.
