There are many cases of people being delusional, or lie to gain control over people in the world, is Muhammad one of them? Also, what proof does Muhammad have, to say that he saw an angel, or that he was from God? Did Muhammed copy the stories from the bible, and manipulate it to make him the person he is today, or saw as today? How do you know what Muhhammad saw was an angel and not a demon pretending to be an angel? How do you know Muhammad saw an angel to begin with, is it only because he told you so?

Mohammad was a man who could neither read nor write.

For those who lived at his time he performed some miracles that made them believe him.

For those who came after him he left the Quran for us to ponder about it.

Can you tell me how come an illiterate man like him can tell stories that you can find in the bible? although his version is similar to the Bible he has some additions that proves to be accurate additions.

here is a simple example

why don't you take a look at this verse of the Quran related to Joseph from Surah 12

[47] (Yûsuf (Joseph)) said: "For seven consecutive years, you shall sow as usual and that (the harvest) which you reap you shall leave in ears, (all) except a little of it which you may eat.

now look at this link

http://www.farm-direct.co.uk/farming/stockcrop/wheat/wheatanat.html

and here is a quote

" 'hulled' wheats have strong glumes which hold the grains in the spikelets; 'naked' wheats are easily released even from the lemma and palea. The ease of release has implications for timing of harvest, ease of threshing, and resistance to disease/predation."

and tell me who taught Joseph or Mohammad for that matter that leaving the wheat in the ears will help protect it from disease and thus allow storing it for extended periods of time.

the Quran is filled with evidence like this.

So for us Muslims we don't even doubt that he was delusional.

He was telling the word of God

God bless

In the Bible, the times of the coming of the successor of Jesus were given, and it was the time of Muhammad. Some Christians expecting Him to appear around 600 AD went to the Arabic world trying to find more clues.

Another proof is the Qur'an, the writings are so beautiful and the strength of the words is such that they can only be divinely inspired.

Muhammad did not copy the stories of the Bible, He reexplained some which had been perverted by the Jews and Chrisitans. He tells about the sufferings of past prophets, admonishing the divine of His age to acknowledge the divinity of His message or at least to stop persecuting Him.

Another proof is the expansion of Islam and the great achievements and discoveries in science, technology and philosophy that were made in the early days of Islam.

When God started to show Himself to His chosen ones, people also took each one of them as delusional and it needed some miracles of sort to believe them. Mohammed was able (miraculously enough) to convince those around him by the words that comes out of his mouth as from God since they knew Mohammad from childhood as uneducated. He was able to take many words from the Five Books of God which was written from the time of Abraham, Moses and other prophets. Those five Books can only be read and understood by those who went to school. Now, if it is from an angel or demon, we cannot know since the devil has the ability to pretend. You can only weigh its authenticity from God because what it contains are good words for man to follow and it becomes an evil work when its interpretation is used for evil intents of the one making the interpretations.
Mohammad believed as he was told by the angel, that he is what is being reffered to by Jesus as the counsellor, the Holy Spirit or an angel that the father will send after him. John 14:15-31

He fasted for a month and saw stuff, what more do you need? I think jesus is more beliveable becasue he didn't write stuff down or tell people to, he just talked and listened. Also, muhammad couldn't convince anyone in mecca at first so he went to medina, raised an army and concured mecca. So started the spread of islam, via the sword. By his death he controlled the entire arabian penninsula. What if Ghengis Khan had a religion he imposed on everyone after he conquered them?

1- No delusional man can achieve such success in all aspect of his life and come up with such a complete religion.
2- No, He was known among his people before his prophethood as the truthful and honest
3- All kind of proofs that can be given .. Qur'an (miraculous book), Miracles... prophecies coming true... God answering his prayers... his morals and teaching.
4- No he was illiterate .. Actually there are many stories in Quran not found in bible... in addition there are many mistakes corrected.
5- Islam teach us to obey God and disobey Satan.

Joshua, this question comes close to a flame or troll. I would ask you to ask yourself why are you asking this question? If it it to "prove" Muslims wrong and yourself (betting that you are a Christian) as right, then I think you need to find something else to do.

Christians, for example, follow writings of a guy who never even met their savior - Saul of Tarsus. Saul, later calling himself Paul to fit in with the Romans, essentially hijacked the Essene movement for independence and made it over into a Mithra cult with Joshua ben Joseph as its dying and resurrected savior. There is some evidence that Saul even had Jesus' brother James killed. James was the head of what was the church in Jerusalem. James was aghast that anyone would take Jesus' teachings out to the gentiles.

How do we know that Buddha, Siddhartha, actually existed and achieved enlightenment? What about Zororaster? How sure are we that Baha'uallah was whom he claimed he was? I think the term is faith. That faith is always encultured by the society.

Interesting that Mohammed (peace be unto him) did not claim to be God. For that matter, one wonders what Jesus would think of the Christians saying he was one, too? Jesus was a Jew. They are monotheists. No trinity for them. That was inserted much later. We have no books of the Christian Bible earlier than about 400 CE. Much was reedited to favor those in power.

Long answer to a simple question. Again, ask yourself why you are asking. If it is to sincerely investigate becoming a Muslim, then ask an Iman. If it is to bash Muslims, shame on you. I hope you find non-biased sources.

Regards,
A Deist

The same way christians "know" jesus was the son of god. They don't they are just accepting what is written in a big old book to be the unquestionable truth from some sort of fictional being in the sky. Replace muhammad in that little paragraph with jesus and muslims with christians you get the same effect. Say no to jesus & muhammed

Great point, I totally agree.

Hundreds of people witnessed Jesus Christ after his ressurection. He proved over and over that he was the Son of God. He performed miracles and even rose from the dead!

How does anyone know that anyone who claimed to hear from God was not delusional?

Often these people wonder about it themselves.

What proof would any son of God, or God indeed have???

Think about it as if there is a God - how would you prove yourself? you couldn't because someone would always say you are just crazy, or a magician etc.
