I would say it is a slim chance that the institution or dealership that did the repo will sue you. DON'T let the thought of them taking you to court keep you awake at night. I would suggest talking to legal aide in your area or call the local office of your State Bar Association to see if there are attorneys that might consider taking your case on a "pro bono" basis. The only way you can successfully argue the case is having the ability to prove that the people doing the repo actually came out above and beyond what you owed.

well that depends on the tote amount owned on the car if the beginning balance was 8,000 and they sold it for 8,000 you owe nothing!
its more like this, what ever the remaining balance on the car was after the repo, subtract the amount that they sold the car for. the remaining is what you owe.
but if I was you to see if a Consumer Credit Counseling (CCCS) can help! www.MoneyManagement.org
or smiler with in your area.

You signed a contract to purchase the car and if there was still $6000 owing, you could be sued although . . .
however much was recovered on the next sale should be credited to you.
See a legit debt counselor for more specific direction.

If they sold the car for more than you owned, then they cannot sue you. No judge would allow it. They can add on administrative costs but that wouldn't amount to too much.

If you owe money, then yes, you can be sued.

However, given your status, they may not be able to get anything from you.

If the repo company made a profit of $2000, a judge is unlikely to award them anything, anyway.

Get an attorney. You could certainly be sued.

Oh my, yes! You're best bet is to flee the country as fast as you can. I hear Iraq is nice this time of year.
