He is lying. If he loved you there would be no reason on earth to go to someone else. He's trying to play you. You're too smart for that.

He is a jerk. Don't worry about him move on like nothing happen.
If he sees you sad he will think himself a pimp. Don't worry there is someone better for you out there. Don't you give up like I did.
