Why would i be having dreams about my grandmas house, my grandpa pasted away about 2 years ago, and i dream that im like her house and last night i was in the basement and there was my grandpa's coffin where i used to play with my cousins as a younger kid. Also what was really weird was that there was my old dog Karina, who also died, stuffed and my grandpa also had collies like Karina was. Over the past 2 years or so i have had many dreams about my pasted away grandpa and that i was at his house. I usually feel okward in these dreams, like an emotion i cant even explain. Any ideas on why i keep having these types of dreams?

I am currently in psychiatric treatment for frequent nightmares of my deceased husband.my doctor tells me that these dreams are brought on by my subconscious and undealt with feelings regarding his suicide.Maybe you have some unresolved grief issues yourself that make themselves apparent in your dreams when are brains are free to roam when we are subconscious.

Here is what my dream book says about houses.
" A House represents your psychological condition. Specific rooms in the house detail what aspect of your psychological life the dream is highlighting. Attic: the intellect. Basement: the personal unconscious. Bathroom: base feelings, childhood thoughts and cleanliness. Bedroom: the private self and sexuality. Den: work and efficiency. Library: intellectual life. Living room: your public image. Roof: an overview of yourself. Windows: the way to interact with the world. "
My opinion is that there is something your subconscious mind is trying to tell you or point out. What feeling do you have about your grandfather? Were you close? Was there an event in the past or even recently that has given you those same feelings?
You said you feel awkward in the dream. Can you think of another time in real life you had those same feelings.
If you are having this dream often then there is something your mind is trying to point out to you that you aren't paying close enough attention to. Start keeping a note pad by your bed and as soon as you wake from dreaming, write everything down. Continue doing this for at least a week. Then read over what you've written to see if anything starts to become clearer.
Good luck.

Many people believe what you're experiencing isn't actually a dream but a "visit" from your grandpa and your dog. If you have these dreams frequently and they are very vivid and stay with you during the day, then you're simply experiencing a validation that your loved ones passed are still with you. It's really quite a gift. Lucky you!

Well, I don't want to sound really odd here but...in my experiences with dreams of people I loved who have passed away, it's usually them trying to "talk" to or visit me. I have these dreams quite often and it's almost like it was before they died. I'm in the same places I would be with that person, doing the things we used to do. It shouldn't be anything you worry about. I think your grandpa misses you and just wants to visit.

It sounds like you haven't dealt with the pain yet, that could be the awkward feeling in your dreams.
The best person to decipher your dreams is you, so what do you think it means.
