You should really do both. It is a SUPPLEMENT, not a SUBSTITUTION. We should always thrive to each our needed servings of fruits and vegetables. The vitmain tablet is a failsafe for days when we fall short :- )

No! The tablet is just a supplement because no one eats as much fruits and vegetables as they should, but you still need the real thing. We can't live on vitamins, at least not yet!

I would think that without fruits and veggies it might be difficult to poop. Water and fibre from grains would help, but really, trying to eat a somewhat balanced diet is the way to go!

No. You are going to be missing the natural combination of nutrients which is important for them to work at their best. You are also missing the natural fiber.
