I seem to be having a lot of dreams that play out like films and I remember a lot of them the next day. They tend to stay with me all day, it's almost like they were real. I'm not on any weird illegal drugs I'm only on venlafaxine 75mg. Some of them are quite horrible and disturbing but they don't wake me up at the time. Is anyone else experiencing things like this?

I rarely see this medication used now. I don't know where you live but before you can take this here in the UK you have to have an ECG, and regular blood pressure check ups are required. I am a mental health nurse. When suffering from depression it can sometimes affect the content of your dreams normally due to the amount that is probably going through your mind. The anxiety that you are feeling in day to day life can sometimes project itself into your dreams. This medication has a lot of side effects. This just could be the side effect that you are suffering from. Also people who are depressed tend to sleep a lot more. If you are an anxious person, and the dreams disturb you they are likely to play on your mind. Just convince yourself that they were just a dream and accept them and try the push them out of your mind.

I do not suffer with depression but i can dream epics that feels like i could write a novel. Also if i am ill with a bad cold or flu then i can have bad nightmares that are very disturbing. I think some people do dream more than others.

I have long, detailed dreams too! I am on 20 mg of prozac for anxiety. My dreams aren't usually disturbing though, they are usually either good or middle of the road.
