jep and jo also mean yes. jawohl is just a more polite and respectful way to say yes. for example the german soldiers always say jawohl and never ja.

hey! no is "nein" and yes is "ja"... but if you want to schow off as u really were german, say "ne" for no (pronunce it like the "ner" of nervous) and "jo" for yes (pronounce yo)...
