The anti-christ is supposed to bear this mark somewhere on his/her body. I think someone should check George W. Bush.

Ok, the real deal is this: It has a very minor mention in the book of Revelation. It is also quite vague which explains why so many people have so many ideas about what it really means.
What it is not is: the mark of the beast (uncertain). The "mark of the beast" has "something" to do with this number but it is associated with the so-called anti-Christ (or spirit of the anti-Christ). The beast and the anti-Christ are two seperate entities (actual people, countries, philosophies, who knows).
It is a mystery. My personal view if this:
The anti-Christ will be a powerful world leader who will command an army to take over the middle east.
The beast is the internet given the power of "life" (i.e. artificial intelligence) by the Anti-Christ.
The anti-Christ will take advantage of war and economic problems to gain power and will use the internet to control the economy ("that none may buy or sell lest he have the mark of the beast").
The number 666 represents many aspects of the Anti-Christ.
Well, I take all this back because if any of the above is true then George Bush is the Anti-Christ

666 the mark of the beast represents Antichrist and his image ,also the political powers of the time, and False Religious powers. Rev.13:1-18 . Satan is the dragon. Those that do not receive the mark of the beast or worship him will be killed.
Revelations 16:2
Because the beast, the Antichrist, is a false messiah, he will be a counterfeit of Christ and will even stage a false resurrection . People will follow and worship him Rev.13:3,4(Rev 13:18 tells you 666 is the number of man.

The number makes its first and only appearance in the last book of the New Testament, the Revelations as the "beast" or Antichrist. The earliest Christians (who believed the world was going to end immediately) used Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew numerology to finger as 666 the wicked Roman emperor Nero! Since then Martin Luther, Henry VIII, Robespierre, Napoleon Bonaparte, George Washington (and his alleged Illuminati double, Adam Weishaupt), Lenin, Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Chairman Mao, Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Harry S. Truman, Prince Charles, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton, Osama Bin Laden, and both George Bushes - and, oh, I almost forgot, all the Popes have been named as a possible Antichrist by this number.
An interesting little tidbit ... recently a 1,500-year-old papyrus manuscript was examined, using new technologies to "read" the heretofore illegible script. The document is written in Greek and is the oldest known version of the Book of the Revelation. The tiny fragment confirms what many scholars and churchmen have long suspected. The text actually reads:
"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man: and his number is 616."

Well that's truthfully a spiritual thing there. Really when one reads the bible one must read it through intelligence and through
a spiritual realm. The 666 is the mark of the devil basically those who do evil deeds will get the mark of the beast and those that do the Lords will, will have the mark of the Lord. Exactly what the number refers to no one will ever know. But continue to do right and the Lord will show you the way.

666 is the mark of the beast. he is on the earth right now growing up, and he will be the only person with 666 on him. when he is fully grown, he will take over and give the people on earth misery. the people on earth will have to wear marks also.

??? you mean when the roman guy put 626 on his slaves then the number was not mathematical enough so it was changed to 666 then was printed into a religion that is based on flesh eating and blood drinking (vampires) Death is the only true end anything else is in the minds of people. It wont matter what you accept You will die that is a fact.

According to biblical references....after the second coming of christ...people will be left on earth for a period of time...If they accept the mark of the beast "666" (the mark of the antichrist), they have no chance of redemption. So accept it and you are screwed.

The mark of the beast will be a mark to identify those who are registered as believers in the Antichrist during the end times (after the rapture) so if you are a saved person it is of no concern to you. if not saved then you will not be able to buy or sell without the mark
