SEDU, i have black peoples hair thick and kinky as hell i dont get relaxers, so after i wash it it is a big fro, and when i use my 1 1/2 inch sedu it looks and feels gorgeous, it even moves like white peoples, i have tried so many flat irons and it is the best it costs about 125, but sometimes u have to pay a lil more to get the best
go to folica.com and look at the different ones, when u go to folica.com scroll on the page a little and you will see something that says top 10 flat irons, and the sedu will be #1 it has the best ratings and has customer reviews and tips and stuff like that, u can look at other flat irons too, so go do some research on that website and u decide what is the best for you!!!!
good luck, but i am telling you the sedu is the best investment, i mean that is the only flat iron i could find to straighten my hair the way i want it, my hair looks better than black girls who have relaxers. i literally went from one hair type to the exact opposite with that flat iron!!!!!! and it doesnt take me a long time either!!!!
EDIT: the sedu is ceramic/tournaline like i said go to folica.com and u decide it give u information about the flat iron and everything

Many people say that CHI works. I recently got a new iron and I researched for the perfect one. My best friend has a CHI and loves it. They are rather expensive, but work like a charm. I have a Ion and I love it. I have an Ion Tourmaline. Tourmaline is a conditioner that makes your hair stay healthy looking and soft. My Ion is a professional iron and it was $90. A CHI is around $200, and they work the same. I would recommend the Ion. Whatever straightener that you choose, make sure that it is ceramic, or it will fry your hair. Hope this helps! -Rayna

Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.
Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.
According to the Solia flat iron website, "tourmaline,
a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more
negative ions than traditional ceramic irons".

I have a CHI. It costs between 80 and 150 but it's worth it and you can get it at almost all beauty supply stores and some hairdressers and hair salons will sell them to you too.

You've got good choices here, but can I suggest you put a little Mixed Chicks Leave-in conditioner on the tips before you iron. It will protect and shine.
