What do you think they believe? Do you think there is only one form of Satanism? What would you do if I told you I was a 13-year-old Satanist?

Just as I suspected... A lot of you need to do your research a little more... not all Satanists believe in an actual Devil, they may believe in an actual Devil, the Devil in all within, or no Devil at all... So, there are basically a few forms of Satanism. They form I believe most in is were every one is their own God and every one should be able to make their own rules without "sins" getting in the way of things. I also support violence, I find it a good outlet for certain things. I also believe in Black Magic and Witchcraft...

Satanism? LOL! I know exactly what they believe! I know it's a sham.

Of course most Satanists would tell you it's the "worship of the self". Most people who identify themselves as Satanists are the "LaVeyian" variety. Anton LaVey was a liar, fraud, bankrupt wife beating pimp. BTW, one idiot actually had the nerve to say "Everyone beat their wife in the fifties" when informed of this(even though he beat Diane from the 60's into the 80's). And no, not everyone did, and it was still wrong.

This shows that rather than standing on their own two feet, Satanists slavishly make excuses for their cult figure, not unlike they way Scientologists do fo L. Ron Hubbard.

LaVey was apraoched by Avon books to wrote a book on witchcraft to cash in on the occult craze of the 1960's. He cobbled together "The Satanic Bible" from a forgotten right-wing political tract (Where of the material from the Book of Satan comes from), Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, and the superstitous occult material of John Dee.

LaVey never really seemed to know what Satanism was himself. Some of his writings seemed atheistic, at other times he called Satan "the dark side of nature" and often refers to Satan as a personification. One thing is for certian, the Satanic Bible gives specific instructions on timing, tools to be used, specific rituals for sex spells, revenge spells, etc (The Book of Belial)., and it seemed he expected results.

Eventually, people realized the spells didn't work, and so began the whole "Well, it's really a philosophy" excuse. In the 1980's, when LaVey was living in poverty he then claimed he was shunning consumer materialism ( a complete role reversal from "Indulgence instead of abstinence!") ala Pee Wee Herman's "I meant to do that!"

LaVey claimed that nuts were given "the bum's rush" when trying to join the Church of Satan, but clearly nut was in the eye of the beholder. LaVey has admited to holding a "Cannibal feast" of a human leg in at least 3 books. The Satanic Bible &Satanic Rituals certainly describe many things most normal people would consider pychotic such as Nude girl is used as an altar (Satanic Bible, Satanic Rituals)A human skull is used in Die Elektrischen Vorspiele ritual (Satanic Rituals, p. 109)Human leg bone or arm bone is used in Homage to Tchort ritual (p.137)
Woman dressed as nun urinates before group into a bedpan in the Black Mass ritual (p.43) Urine is then sprinkled like holy water (p.44)Man climbs into coffin with nude woman (or nude man if he is gay) in Le Epais ritual (p.59).

As a "philosophy", Satanism could be boiled down to hedonism, which was hardly a new idea in the 1960's. Oddly enough, most Satanists don't fit the bill as swingers. Some seem to lead fairly uneventful lives. Here's an example:

"I've been forced to give up coffee - the acid was responsible for a minor ulcer and I can no longer take any chances with my health. This was my solitary vice - now it is gone. I do not drink, do not smoke, do not use recreational drugs and have nothing remotely resembling a sex life!"
--"Lord" Egan of "The First Church of Satan"

Wow! What a swinger! So then the picture begins to develop that Satanism is not so much a philosophy of life as it is a fantasy; a means to escape a life not worth living.

If you want people to take you seriously, don't call yourself a Satanist.

To anyone seeking spiritual guidance, I would reccomend you read everything by C.S. Lewis instead.

I don't know how I feel about Satanism.

I do know that Satanists have gotten a bad rap from the so-called "Satanic child rape" rituals of the 80s, but that same bs is coming back on the heels of crazed Christians panicking about the Illuminati and aliens.

You'll hear about how Satanists are supposedly abusing children and what not and people blaming demons for all the ill in the world. I feel they should take responsibility for their own misdeeds instead of blaming other people or belief systems for it.

Then there's the emo teens who go around murdering people's pets thinking they're so cool and dark and Satanic. Well, no you're not. You're just an asshole teen who wants to be edgy and cool.

that's fine with me satanism is a religion like all the other religions it's just frowned upon by many ahh whatever anyway i know more about satanism the most of the people on this forum and i'm not even a satanist lol anyway there are a few different forms of satanism the two main form are theistic where as they view satan as a force and god and some even pray to him and the other gods then there is the laveyan form of satanism which is more a form of self worship where in you are your own god and you worship only yourself and is more about man's carnal or fleshly nature which is what both forms are about physical pleasure you see there are people who are educated about your religion i find both forms of satanism as well as luciferianism pretty damn interesting

With all due respect, I don't think much of it. I understand that it's not about devil worship, but really....why make a religion out of it? It seems rather pointless to me.

And although I'm very drawn to the dark side, am fascinated by the occult, blah blah blah, I think they tend to be a tad too dark for my taste. I mean, just because you're a satanist you have to dress like all the other satanists? Why don't you ever see a well-dressed, mousy-brown haired satanist?

I just don't have much tolerance for posers and gloomy doomy people.

As a former member of the First Church of Satan, I must point out that calling yourself a Satanist doesn't make you one. Calling yourself a Satanist while rejecting Satan makes as much sense as calling yourself a Christian and rejecting Christ. I left that church more than 3 decades ago, but I haven't forgotten the basics, what you are practicing is not a religion, just irresponsible self indulgence.

Meh, you have to believe in the Christian god to believe in the Christian satan. So I think they're just as misinformed as the Christians. The difference is that the Satanists have learned to keep their religion to themselves.

Satanists are not evil like people think, and they are elite atheists. All you need to know is in the Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey who is the founder of Satanism. They love kids and animals and the law. They do not pray or plead they demand their WILL and command their desires from the forces of darkness. Also read "Satanic Rites and Ceremony's" by Rev. Yaj Nomolos

Quote from famous musician, High ranking Church of Satan member and very close friend to Anton LaVey - King Diamond "Satanism is about the Powers of the Unknown. I have had hundreds of strange supernatural experinces with the occult, the other side, the beyond, whatever you want to call it that proves there is a spiritual world that can cross over into our world. Satanism is a life philosophy so within it you can have your own religion, any religion you want, within the Satanic Philosophy you can even be a Christian. And Satan on a spiritual mystical level stands for the Powers of Darkness, the Powers of the Unknown which are always all around us at all times. This is the best way to talk about these Spirits and Powers.

Some people like to call "Them" God or the Devil or whatever, but I do not believe there is all one good power and one all bad power. I believe there are many, many different Spirits and Powers that exist and that they are not good or evil, like humans they have both inside of them and I always treat them with the highest amount of respect and feel that respect returned by Them. I believe we are one and the same me and these Unknown Forces. I believe they come to those who they feel can handle it and who will be faithful believers." In the song "Welcome Princess of Hell" you hear me singing to these spirits and powers and they sing back to me. They came to me to let me know they are here for me on my journey and that they are behind me and that they wish me good luck! We all live several lives so that our souls can grow in order to reach a higher plane. 99 percent of the population live by the Satanic Philosophy whether they know it or not. As Anton LaVey even told me that Satanism is simply a life philosophy and NOT a religion. People who see Satanism from the Christian view point are not treating these powers with respect and that is very dangerous.

Within the Satanic Philosophy a person can still be a Christian if that fulfills their spiritual needs.

LaVey Church of Satan Rev. Thomas Thorn - " There is a spiritual dimension that communicates with us and there are powers and deities in this spiritual world. We use Satanic Rituals to summon, communicate with and make pacts with Demons that are real beings as well as other spirits"

Church of Satan member Joe Netherworld recently called Americas Favorite Satanist has a site talking about how he uses his ability to communicate with the spirit world to help solve cases and give accurate info to people during divination's that he does

This is why the Books The Satanic Bible and the Satanic Rituals by Anton LaVey stress to treat these entities with respect as friends and companions and to be in league with these Powers and not use protective circles and pentagrams which insult these forces. Anton LaVey spent his life researching the occult, magic and the supernatural and was a ghost hunter. He said he created a glowing pentagram to attract these forces and did essays on the trapezoid which opens gateways to supernatural forces. As Anton LaVey himmself said in books and video interviews he tried calling up spirits and demons using circles and names of God and Jesus for protection and it did not work so he knew he needed to then be on the side of the demons instead of using protection in order to call up Demons and gain magical powers and have things go his way. LaVey also said how Satanists thrive in the darkness surrounded by the Dark ones and the Infernal spirits.

Church of Satan video documentary "Satanis" many Satanic Church members were asked if they believe in a God or Powers and they said "Yes they do"

Satanic Priest Peter Gilmore - "Everyone behaves in a Satanic fashion and it is high time people recognize that"

It's just as valid as any other religion, and I don't know of any satanists who have started wars or committed atrocities based on their religion.
