Board games are always fun, rent a movie and get some munchies. Take them out for ice cream. Maybe put put golf, go karts, go to the movies, out to a fun restaurant.

At my house, we like to have RECIPE NIGHT. We choose an interesting recipe we've never made before. We shop for the ingredients. We put on music and prepare the recipe together. It's always a lot of fun. Some of our favorite recipes are things like Kung Pao Chicken or home made pasta and home made sauce or gumbo. Usually stuff we'd order in a restaurant but didn't think we could make ourselves. It's fun to try new and complicated recipes and easier when everyone chips in. We sort of make it like our own cooking show.
We always make sure to make notes in the cookbook of the date we made it, how it turned out and how we might change it if we make it again. We do the same with recipes we get from the internet and we keep those in a binder called "RECIPES THAT ARE GOOD". It's fun to look back on our notes too.
Try the link below for some interesting recipe ideas.

Something I do with my daughter is "we take a piece of paper. One of us draws a small picture which takes just a fraction of the paper. Then we all take turns adding to it until we have a family piece of artwork. My kids love it and it is good quality time. Another option is to do the same in making up a story. Start it with just a few thoughts and just take turns until it is complete. Fun and creative.
