You need to give at least a week's notice, and bring along you're driver's i.d., social security card, and sometimes you may need your birth certificate--that depends on where you live.
All I needed was my i.d. and ss# card and I live in South-West Missouri.

In the UK you need to give notice at least six weeks before.

In my area you could just turn up to the office in the morning but it was a long wait to see the registrar but that was in early January and I suspect it might be busier then after all the christmas and new year proposals.

You both need to go with id, proof of address and if married before your divorce papers.

Most local authorities have stuff on their web pages abut their procedures so check there.

In the uk you can phone the registry office to book a date, you have to pay the deposit on the date within two weeks (or they'll cancel your booking). Then you have to go in with your i.d, the rest of the money etc the minimum of six weeks before the day.

In the UK you have to give THREE weeks' Notice of Intention to marry, and you have to have with you your birth certificate and decree absolute(s) if one or both of you has a former spouse still living. I think you need an appointment with the registrar to give notice of intention etc.

depends on what State you live in. Many States have a waiting period between getting a Marriage License and when you can actually get married, give them a call to get the specifics.

It depends on the state you live in. but in Massachusetts you should do it a month in advance but you have to do it at least three days in advance because there is a three day waiting period.
