OKAYOKAY, me and my friend were up at like 2 in the morning prank calling random people out the phone number with *67.. and to make a long story short, we called someone that we shouldnt of called.. and we are so retarded she left a voicemail message.. I didn't talk at all, maybe coughed in the backgroud but that's it.. and the message she left was NAUGHTY AND I MEAN OMG NAUGHTY.. but the call was made on my cell but I didn't talk on the voicemail she did all the talking and this person that we called is like someone we shouldnt be calling AT ALL.. if I didnt talk at all on the voicemail, can I get in trouble? This girl is black and I'm white so we defonitely have different voices..

and yeah, this happened like at 2:00pm last night and it's already 11:40AM, so I'm sure she got her messages =/ do you think if she was to get the police involved or something, they would of called me cell already? ooh man.. =/

ooh, and will she know that it is me if I coughed and maybe a held in laugh in the background.. SHE'S A DEAN AND I DONT WANT TO GET EXPELLED MY FRIEND DOESN'T GO TO THAT SCHOOL, SHE GOES TO A DIFFERENT ONE. =XXXXXXX

She probably won't do anything legal about a prank phone call but you may want to watch your back at school! Also, if anything does happen, from a legal standpoint, you didn't make the call, the other girl did. Even if you knew she was doing it you can't physically hold her mouth shut, that would be assault. And they wouldn't be able to prove that it was you coughing in the background, that would be impossible to prove, so you could just claim that you didn't even know the other girl had done it. But really, the only way the dean would know for sure that it was you is if she gets the police involved, and I doubt she will.

Making prank phone calls is called telephone harassment, and if caught your parents can be fined $15,000 jailed for 15 months or BOTH. And yes you CAN get into trouble especially nowadays with caller IDs and even without caller id a person can get a print out of EVERY call that comes into their home from the phone company and once a number has been found those people you harassed can press charges against your parents...I wonder how your father would like spending 15 months in jail...no doubt he would be fired from his job. Or your mom could wind up in jail...And of course the court would ship you off to foster homes...

Where the he*l are your parents? Last time I checked Wednesday is still a school night. What a stupid thing to do.

I hope you didn't do anything to a business. My husband owns a pizzaria, and when they get pranked they don't just *69 the caller, they *57 them, which places a police trace on the number whether it is blocked or not. Then they prosecute.

You're not going to like this, but the adult thing to do (and that will ultimately make you feel better), is to to call the person back, identify yourself (by name), apologize for all you're worth, without making any excuses, and promise that you'll NEVER do anything so immature again (you won't, will you?).

I've been in a similar situation that could have had worse consequences than any you're facing, and the pre-emptive strike is the best way out of this mess.

just make sure if something happens they know that you were not the one who left the message and that it was someone else using your phone. they probably wont even waste their time on a prank call.
