The worst part of the novacaine shot is...the shot itself.

The root canal could take 15 min or an hour, it depends.
It shouldnt hurt if you've become comfortably numb.

Novocaine doesn't hurt and any decent dentist can even make the shot not hurt by applying a topical numbing agent to the area before a shot is given. A root canal can take 1/2 or maybe an hour.

The worst thing about a root canal may be slight bruising a few days after the procedure. That's it.

Novane is an antipsychotic medication used to treat schizophrenia with many side effects. If you are talking about novicaine, they put the shot or shots of it in your gums to numb it. A little pain. A root canal depends on what they find as the dentist does the procedure. There is no set time.Once you are numb any pain should be minimal!
