Is it a sin to donate your eggs or sperm and in return, receive compensation?

No, I don't think so. I also don't think it's a sin to donate blood or plasma or bone marrow or organs.

I would agree that the situation is different though, when you donate sperm or an egg you are donating the building blocks of life, so you are donating something that will create life instead of just saving life.

I would think that it were a sin if you donated eggs or sperm to place that creates life only to immediately destroy it and run tests on it, like for embryo stem cell research, for example. As long as the donation is going toward creating a life, there is nothing wrong with it.

I wouldn't think so, you are not killing children but making them without fornicating. Sounds perfectly good to me
