I grew a beard but fed up with it. But shaving is such a drag and my face suffers too. Anyone else have the same problem? And if so that's the answer apart from growing another beard?

But beards are wonderful! You should have a beard :)

You should always shave after a hot shower, so your pores are opened. After shaving, rinse with cold water and rub with baby oil :)

Make sure you are using a good shaving lotion. Try one made specially for sensitive skin. Also, dont shave against the grain, shave with the grain, or in the direction of your hair growth. Also, a good aftershave will help with the irritation after shaving.

Use a shaving gel (not foam) or switch to soap and brush. Try soap that has shea butter in it as this is both a good lubricant and good for your skin. Always use a good aftershave lotion (cream) or face cream.

You'll know if you've got it right because your face will feel better and your razors will last for much, much longer.

Use baby oil before you put the foam on and after you shave. It protects the skin and it moisturises so that it does not hurt as much the next time.

The reason for a rash is soft skin so by shaving your beard you will be bringing about soft skin as its not been shaven for a while so will be tender by keeping shaving it will toughen up. use aftershave lotion it'll sting though at first lol

You need to use a shaving cream (or gel) for sensitive skin and use an after shave product that has moisturizers and no alcohol

Sounds like your using a blunt razor, or your skin is sensitive. Try an electric razor, and use a moisturising cream for men, especially for that purpose.

I use the gillette fusion shaver with Neutrogena shaving cream and no longer have that problem.

When you shave, keep your chin moisturized with an oil free moisturizer. You are not getting a trash, yo are getting ingrown hair.
