I love both these guys! They are in my top 10 all-time favorites. Now that they are finally squaring off (better late than never,) I would have to tip the scales in favor of PBF. He is obviously the betting favorite. Sentimentally, I think Oscar has the slight advantage. This is considering the fact that this is the first time Floyd will be fighting in Junior Middleweight. There are other factors to consider against Mayweather, such as the wear-and-tear, and the quality of his current opposition, Oscar.
Oscar's trainer was Mayweather's own father. That would've caused serious emotional problems for Floyd Jr.'s camp. Oscar is only slightly over the hill. You could say the same for PBF himself. He's not the slugger he used to be. Now, he's just playing smart. The problem with Mayweather's technique is that Oscar isn't a dumbass.
This fight is an all or nothing fight. Either these two guys get at it or they do not. This will either be Fight of the Year candidate or the Disappointment of the Year. One thing's for sure, whoever wins will determine the pound-for-pound best. I see this fight as a draw. If not, I'd tip my hat off to Mayweather.

Delahoya will win for sure. He's also very fast, tactical, and better yet.... he's got more power... do i smell KO? Delahoya is only 34 years old and in no way is he a burned out fighter. He has fought the best throughout his career and will be in supreme shape come this May. Mayweather is a great fighter and opponent but he's never fought anyone on the level of where Delahoya is at and the whole world will see Mayweather's first defeat.

I believe Floyd Mayweather will win this fight in a decision. I think the fight will be pretty competitive early but Mayweather's speed and youth will be too much for De La Hoya down the stretch. I would have loved to see this fight just a few years ago...

Delahoya needs no area of Mayweather...Oscar's had his time contained in the spotlight and has made his tens of millions, he purely needs to learn from the solid existence --- the interest isn't what it grow to be once...Floyd nonetheless has the hearth contained in the tummy. understand something, Mayweather is operating difficult to envision himself as between the finest suited boxers of all time --- he will certainly knock out Oscar because he will be highly inspired to finish that. there'll be no draw because too a lot of people could have paid too a lot funds to confirm a victory and the judges at the instantaneous are unlikely to disclaim them what they decide on.

Floyd has the superior speed, and I think he will use it to run from Oscar. Floyd says he will not run from Oscar, but then again, he said he would knock out Baldomir in 5 rounds.

Also, De La Hoya has proved everything he has to in boxing. Mayweather has yet to, on account that he hasn't been severely tested yet.

Not many people expect Floyd to win, but I think Floyd will be wary/ scared of De La Hoya's power, and will show. Floyd will box from a distance, and pot shot and counter punch his way to a split decision win over De La Hoya.

Unless floyd breaks both his hands early he should be able to box Oscars ears off moving in and out and out and down at a low right angle when stepping out to avoid Oscars best punch, a medium height left hook combination finish...Shane was beating Oscar to the punch so easily early that at the end he was just stepping in and firing away...I like Oscar, and enjoyed his fighting career but getting Mayorga was like getting the best Italian tailor to hook you up...I mean, look...no major fights for that long, then he gets a title fight against a guy with no defense and a tendency to just try to punch you out?...That does speak volumes about how to manage a figher and career though...I say good for Oscar that hes now a big time promoter and handling a lot of good fighters, he will be one of boxings true success stories as most fighters outlive their money, and long after his career he will have hundreds of millions...but that...will not help him in vegas...

Oscar De LaHoya wins. Too much strength and weight for Mayweather. Too much experience.

mayweather easy delahoya is not really a great fighter. If you let him pound you with that left he can beat any idiot that will let him do that.
