the government guards against benifit fraud. why can't dating agencies do the same.

This is yet the best question that has been on my mind for some time now. I have often wondered why dating agencies have no screening process and, like myself, I would like a thorough profile of someone, like a woman, to see if she'd be proper to take for a spin on a date, then, if I decided and for some reason that date didn't work out, then I would have nobody else to blame but myself for accepting the terms and conditions of the date I chose with the fat, tall, skinny or short woman I selected.

No matter what the agencies do or ask - PEOPLE LIE !!!!
You take the same chances out in a bar as you do going to an agency of running into Whacko`s .
That means both Male and Female nut-jobs .

eharmony has a screening policy but they send you matches who are no longer members so you wait forever to hear back from these people. I didn't really like eharmony. The nice thing about online dating sites is that it is an easy way to meet new people. Be careful though. Good luck.

Some places do criminal back ground checks. these are the places that charge you 10,000 bucks. You get what you pay for.
