What does that mean?

Simple: When you are inlcined to favour someone or something, you tend to lose sight of facts or the truth.

For example, if you hear that your favourite soccer player is accused of doping, you wouldn't want to believe it and you would support him.

That is when we say prejudice obscures the truth.

Prejudice does not hide the truth, it just obscures the truth. So, if someone favors or dislikes a particular "thing" they automatically are prejudiced.

Bless your heart, I hope you really DON'T know what it means. It means that truth lies hidden to those who approach it with predisposed ideas. In other words, if you are predisposed to think of something or someone only in a certain way, then you may not be able to see past that predisposition when confronted with that thing or person, even in the greatest of evidence.

It happens every day. People will usually apply this to racial situations, however, it also occurs in science labs, marriages, and, most importantly, within yourself.

I think that it means this:

If an individual has any biases on any subject then how they view events in life will be adjusted to their own views. We all have biases so all of our truths are obscured.

Remember that we were all probably taught that Christopher Columbus discovered the US; we know now and question how can someone discover something when there were people already there?...............Exactly.

It means if you make up your mind about any person or thing you dont know and dont have any first hand personal information upon which to base your opinion, obviously your mind is made up without really knowing the true person
