I have been asked how I would drive with my left leg...I would have to lay my right leg across the seat (it is a bench seat, fortunately) and scoot over a bit to operate the brake and gas with my left foot. It is an automatic transmission, which made it possible to drive this way, but as others mentioned, dangerous and would put me in a position to be sued in the case of an accident. Luckily, when my work found out that I would be on disability for three months, they agreed to let me work from home, so Californians, you are safe on the road again, from me at least!

That a good question. How would you drive it with the left leg? cross your right leg over your left? by the way I'm just curious: is your car automatic or manual transmission?

No it is not illegal to drive, but unfortunately, CHP does frown on individuals that drive a motor vehicle the way that you tested with DMV. It would best to just find another way to get around. If you are involved in an accident, your insurance company could also deny the claim.
Ultimately it's your decision.

Ive been driving in California 34 years and I would say no. You can call the CHP for confirmation.

Probably not illegal, but in the event of an accident they would take that into consideration and make it your fault. In any case it isn't a good idea.

Many places sell products to allow you to drive with your left foot.
