Can you not find things funny? Have you ever laughed at a racist, agest or sexist joke and felt bad about it or do you tell people off for telling them? What about fat people jokes?

Please reply if you are really offended by these things but not if your just going to jump on a high horse!

I laugh at many non-PC jokes, but live a pretty PC life. WIthin the confines of like-minded people whom I know will tell if I'm joking, I can let loose with the humor at will. But recognizing how this would affect certain people directly, I keep it under wraps if they're around.

Besides, "P.C" is a term coined by the first Bush administration, invented largely to dismiss concerns raised about minorities and women. Conservatives LOVE using it freely, since it diminishes legitimate issues and the more frivolous ones equally. It's too bad. Some stuff really deserves to get addressed....

You ask, "Are you really that P.C.?"

My answer, "God I hope not".

In fact I am normally more upset at those who are offended than those doing the offending. Especially if I consider it innocent and done in jest. I think I can tell when someone is being malicious. For example, I was given a senior citizen discount at a restaurant once. I knew the young lady was not trying to offend me so I accepted it and went about my business. I was 42 years old when that happened. Some folks would have blown a fuse. They are just tooooo damn sensitive.

BTW, the next time I was at that restaurant I wasn't offered the discount. Oh well, you can't win them all...

Have a good day.

laughings good for you. I try to laugh at every opportunity - tho I'm not always laughing for the same reasons others are ;)

I don't tell many non-PC jokes, but will once in a blue moon. I'll tell one about my "own kind" (whatever that is at the moment).
Sometimes I'll tell one about my audience. ie gay jokes to gay people, black jokes to black people. If they wouldn't think its funny, then its probably not.

I think the funniest ones are the ones that turn stereotypes on their ear, give backhanded compliments, or the joke is on both sides.. humor is about fearlessness, surprise, good timing and truth. racism and hate rarely fall into any of those categories. except on South Park.

PC is just another form of control over the masses. Some fatass, head up the butt person decided it shouldn't be correct to use certain words. I'm a nonconformist. ;))

However, out of respect for others, no i don't make fun of people. What if you were fat and ugly... Oh wait! Are you?

I find that those who have no intellect, no self-esteem, no imagination, no life of their own, have a sad existence, are those who make fun of others for their own lack of entertainment.

After all, isn't it true that "People generally treat others the way they feel about themselves?"

Stays on me high horse... "Giddyap!!" Rides off in to the sunset. ;)) Take care and have a lovely day, hugs xoxo

it depends how the person telling the joke means it. if they themselves are being racist and i dont know them ie a stranger, then i dont laugh. if its a friend and they are telling a mild joke because they heard it and thought it was generally funny but not in a racist way then i would probably laugh. if my friend was a racist b*stard then i would not be friends with them in the first place

I am not offended by anything anyone says. I am of the old school here in the old good USA. But, as the PC liberals try to divide and conquer for political purposes, it is becoming more and more difficult to defend the US as being republic.
A democracy is defined loosely as mob rule. That is what is happening her. Minorities want to have all majority right, until they become the majority, then they will want to keep majority rights and the hindmost to the rest of us.
It all depends on whose ox is being gored. Like in the Duke Lacrosse players fiasco, they were guilty because the accuser was of the protected trifecta: black, female and unwed mother.
As one of the Duke liberal professors said: "Convict them even if they didn't do it, they will be paying for what happened 100 years ago.

Mark my words, this P.C. malarky will die a natural death and not too soon. For instance, if a big fat person annoyed me I would probably refer to their obesity. Similarly, with any difference such as being Scottish (moi of course) people sometimes in an argument refer to it, or people being black - and so on. I am not offended, only if somebody gets really hurt and they would anyway P.C. or not!

I get really offended and speak out violently. Which I shouldn't.
I hate jokes that put other people down. I read once only insecure little people feel the need to bolster themselves by putting others down. It is a form of bragging see I am better than they are. Because it rarely is about something that they have a problem with. I mean would a black person tell a black joke putting blacks down? Or mexican or a fat person?
NO, it is directed at making fun of another person! which is morally wrong. and a form of sick bragging.
I went with a guy who felt it necessary to make a joke about others. I said, "take me home I don't find that funny and I don't want to date someone that insecure." If everyone would do that they would stop.

I only laugh if it is funny and a friend is telling it. Depending on the joke...If a stranger tells it...I might take offence.
