You most certainly can, although you need to use either a mod chip or do what is called a "soft mod" (which involves hooking the Xbox's hard drive up to a computer and writing software to the hard drive).

I hope the above poster who said "Heck no" is joking because if he is serious then he knows nothing about the Xbox modding community.

You can practically put linux into anything that has a processor. The problem is getting the linux built for such a processor. For example linux for iPod is available and under constant development. So search the net for linux on xbox. If you do find it, then you're lucky. or else, if you are a comp savvy, you can develop a kernel for linux on xbox!
