You should tell your hubby that it is important that he keeps good hygene. If his gingivitis gets worst then he needs to do a gum surgery which is very painful. The reason why he has ginvigitis is when you eat, food gets stuck between your gums. If you dont floss the food and bacteria out.. then it gets lodged up your gums and inside the gums. If so much bacteria gets in there which is bad gingavitis thats when the doctor has to do gum surgery. Gum surgery what they do is scrape and cut the gums open.. then scrape out all the bacteria out. It is very very painful. Bad gums also loosen your teeth so if his gums get even worst.. he may loose all his teeth. Tell him that he has bad breath and he needs to start taking better care of his teeth.

That's a tough one. Most oral hygiene habits are formed at an early age when our parents continually reminded us to brush and floss. You have to let him know that he's going to end up ruining his love life by having a Llama mouth.
Maybe you can give him a taste of his own medicine... Eat some Limburger cheese with onions and breathe on him for a second or two before you kiss him.

Make an appointment for him to go back and see the dr. Go into the operatory room w/ him and ask the dr. to explain why good hygiene is necessary for a healthy life. A lot of poeple won't keep good hygiene because they don't know why it's so important. They think "if all it gives me is bad breath then I'll just chew minty gum." Also he may not even know that his breath stinks because he may be so used to it. People get used to their body odors and fail to "smell" them or recognize them. Let him know that he has horrible breath. If he continues to let tartar grow on his teeth by not brushing good his teeth will grow decay and you and him will end up paying lots of $$ for fillings or if you can't pay for fillings his teeth will literally rot in his mouth over time.

First of all, if his breath is that bad how did you marry him....I think you need to sit down and have a talk with him about this issue because if he is not brushing right and flossing like the dentist recommended then he needs to know that the problem will only get worse....

he needs to floss DAILY and brush at least twice a day for at least 2 minutes each time, making sure that he is brushing all parts of his teeth ( like getting those hard to reach areas in back). As for mouth wash, I know this doesn't always help much as it can actually make the gums "funkier" (my dental hygenists words) if used every day, but once in a while doesn't seem to hurt.

Sometimes when you hear the problems that some married couples have, you ask yourself if they couldn't see that coming before getting married. Maybe he slacked off after the courtship? I wouldn't kiss someone with bad oral hygiene either. But all you can do is tell him how you feel. You can't force him to change.

Do not let him kiss or touch you without having a clean mouth. By taking away his sex life, he will be forced to keep his mouth up to code if he wants to get some lovin'.

Keep encouraging him to follow doctors orders, because if not, this will eventually lead to tooth loss and maybe other health problems or sickness, and that the steps taken will be beneficial for the both of you guys.

well, why the heck go to the dentist if you are not going to follow his instructions? his condition did not appear overnight, so why would he think that it can be cured in an instant...what a waste of time (his and the dentist) and money (his)...and also being irresponsible (not taking care of his dental heath which can lead to other health problems...and leave him unable to take care of you (family)...he is a selfish brute with the breath to match...
