I want to protect my new dishwasher. When I was living in Germany I used special salt for dishwasher and every now and then I used the 'entkalker'. I can't find it in the supermarkets for dishwasher, only for coffee machines.

Maybe Dishwasher Cleaner? I used a cleaner that you pop in and run through a wash cycle, and it works great; I think it was made by Jet-Dry, not sure....

Do you mean Uncaulker? If so, you can just use dishwasher granular salt to help reduce clogging and water hardness residue. Do not use regular table salt or rock salt.
