For computer, we're making a movie using Windows Movie Maker. How do you get background music from either a CD, iTunes, or Windows Media Player to Windows Movie Maker as background music?

If Movie Tasks isn't showing on the left of the window then click Tasks on the tool bar at the top
Click on capture video
then Import audio or music
you'll be presented with a window where you can select the music file that you want
click import
you'll see your song in the Collections pane
and then at the bottom of the window you'll see 3 timelines
top - video
middle - Audio
bottom - title overlay
drag your song to the audio timeline and drop it where you would like it to play in the video

on the top left you just juct click on "music/audio" and then be able to browse for your saved song. thats it. I use MovieMaker all the time..it's simple and I love it. It delivers great results too.
