Lets say you want to race in the Daytona 500, buy a car, and get in on time! YOUR IN THE SHOW!

Do you think each year drivers should be put through a test of various things, such as eye sight, reaction time (reflexes), health, a timed driving test, amoung other things before they can race on Nascar's top circut? Or maybe just new guys?

I am sure 95% of the drivers are in great shape, but I am talking about the guys who come in like the 72 year old fellow. I dont have anything wrong with him racing, I just dont want to see him have an accident that could hurt him, or others on the track...

If you do test them, do you test everyone, or wait until they make a certian age? Or only test them if they have not raced in the past 5 years? I am interested to see what everyone thinks... I think its a great idea to make sure the saftey of everyone is in good hands...

Easy now... I was not suggesting that Nascar is not good enough the way it is, or that there is a problem... I was only offering up a question that does not involve screaming at each other about who the best driver is, or whos going to win this year...

I dont think that its really a bad idea when all is said and done...

Wow, I never thought about it that much. I think that would be a good idea though. For example, I'm not saying Paul Menard sucks, but his dad is quite well off and that is one reason he came up the ranks so fast. Daddy's sponsor dollars put him in a ride maybe a little before he was ready. What is to stop some stinking rich guy from buying the equipment to qualify for a race that he has no business being in? With all the advancements in the technology of safety in NASCAR this would seem to be another easy way to improve upon the overall safety of the drivers. The people that don't get to race because of the license deal would also benefit from it by learning some things about themselves before it's too late.

Yearly physicals are already required for the driver and the over the wall crew, plus the driver must pass another physical when returning after an injury.

if you got the money and make the time than lets race......if a person can spend that kind of money than he must have a great health plan.........
