what can i do to make the handle black???

Because Black absorbes power and i would like to use my athame during a ritual so it can direct my power.
and i know that i don't "Have" to have a black handeled Athame but i just want it as a stated above the reason.

I never had an athame with a black handle... you could use a typical house knife if you feel you have to have one. Black electrical tape... it'd be ugly but it'll do in a pinch. Just don't slice yourself up.
edit... sounds like someone got you in a bad mood... my intent is only to indicate that you must have your reasons for needing one, thus, you feel you "have to have one". Not trying to upset you.

you can actually find you something that is black, that has already been coated with black. and take the handle of your athame off of the blade and make you a new handle. Just be sure afterwards if you go this route to cleanse it. I am sure with you already knowing this much, you know how to cleanse it.. if you just let me know.
also it doesnt have to be black just aslong as it is a dark color.

why bother? from what I understand about wicca/pagan stuff, you don't have to stick to old outdated rules and can change anything to suit yourself
